White Cheddar Mac N Cheese

This mac n cheese is tangy & creamy & all things delicious. It is a fun take on the regular mac using the white cheddars.

White Cheddar Mac N Cheese 

1 lb pasta (I used farfelle) 

1 stick salted butter 

1/2 cup flour

4 cups milk

4 cups shredded cheese (2 cups unexpected cheddar & 2 cups extras sharp Cabot cheddar)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

Dash of nutmeg to your preference 

Preheat your oven to 425. Boil your pasta super al dente & set aside while you make the sauce. In a sauce pan melt butter & whisk in flour. Cook until a light brown color then add your milk. Whisk well and bring to a boil until mixture thickens. Add in your cheese and lower heat, stirring to melt cheese. Season with garlic powder, salt, pepper & nutmeg. Place your noodles into a casserole dish & pour sauce over (you may have some extra sauce) until noodles are very creamy. Top with extra shredded cheese and bake for 20 minutes. Broil at the end for a crispy cheese top.
